Klimafilm Festival

Malta Klimafilm Festival is an initiative of Maltese non-profit organisation Kopin and Triq Cinemoon aimed at raising awareness on the importance of taking action to combat climate change.

During three evenings, we will watch films, short movies and documentaries on the subject of climate change, and engage in thought-provoking debates with film makers and experts.

Not forgetting the importance of young generations, there will also be an animated film for children on Saturday afternoon at 4pm followed by a documentary and discussion with the Dutch film's director.

Why are we doing this?

We strongly believe in the power of the visual arts as an educational tool to raise awareness on global issues. While climate change is acknowledged as a global problem, it receives little media attention here in Malta.

Very few artistic events have attempted to tackle it so far. This is rather astonishing when one considers the impact climate change is forecast to have on small island states like Malta.

Klimafilm comes at a very opportune moment, shortly before the international climate conference (COP 21) taking place in Paris at the end of November 2015.
