Exploring human form and distinctive environments with verve and curiosity, Swedish photographer Anna Runefelt has just relocated to Malta after six years living in London. After an assignment introduced her to these shores, Anna decided to upend her busy life in the UK in favour of the small island’s inspiring aesthetic qualities. The collection you are viewing is the result of a spontaneous photographic expedition in Malta, portraying a professional dancer from "The Royal Ballet London".
“Being a photographer fascinated by derelict buildings, it was a joy to delve into these deserted mansions to photograph and capture the beauty they hold. Often streams of ideas come flowing in from having visited a place with colours and textures that spark my imagination. This space becomes the foundation from where visions build within my mind. Shapes, fabrics, colours, emotions and expressions suddenly take form”. Anna Runefelt
