After thirty years of waiting, Shakespeare’s glorious comedy of love and change, finally makes it to the National Theatre, with Rosalie Craig taking on the lead role as Rosalind. In this typical pastoral narrative of exclusion and acceptance, Polly Findlay directs her crew to follow the story of a girl who was banished from her courtly life, and who then sets off, together with her cousin Cecilia, in search of refuge in the country-side…into the Forest of Arden.

There, released from all earthly ties of the past, Rosalind experiences the liberating rush of transformation, of pretending to be someone else, free from prejudice, and open to a new world of possibilities that see her falling unexpectedly, spectacularly in love.
