Soar - Anatomy in Motion

This installation is the culmination of a five-year long project by physician Charles Paul Azzopardi, where the display of a corpus of 44 photographic prints is based on the practice of dance, photography & original writing.

The project aims to transcend any particular sector by combining multiple media modalities, with original written pieces as necessary companions to the photographs. The sequence of photographic prints and text, besides being an individual artistic frame and piece in itself, is intended to form one cohesive, melodious and holistic whole, even when viewed sequentially.

The projected outcome is an exhibition combining photographic prints and original poetic writing, together with workshop and lectures related to project to explore the human form & anatomy through dance and art. Together these will seek to give more exposure to the Maltese dance, photography and literary scenes, while instilling a need, and urge, to debate the state of these means of expression. SOAR is a push, a movement, and a reaction to that need.
