Celebrating 450years of Subterranean Valletta

Celebrating 450years of Subterranean Valletta in Malta, Arts/Culture Malta, 28.03.2016 - 28.03.2016

Description:

Valletta Underground, a newly set up NGO, will be organizing a prestigious event which will officially launch this organisation and celebrate 450 years since the foundation of Valletta. In response to the great interest shown in Valletta Underground’s Facebook page, VU felt the need to organise this activity to truly experience the subterranean dimension of our capital city. The general public is invited to listen to a talk delivered by Architect Edward Said and later tour the subterranean spaces beneath Auberge de Castille and beyond. NB: Please come in comfortable shoes as existing flooring may be uneven in certain areas.
This event will be held on Monday 28th March 2016 according to the following programme:

17:15hrs: Doors will be open for those who wish to have sufficient time to walk within Auberge de Castille's cellars.
18:00hrs: Talk delivered by Architect Edward Said.
19:30hrs: Following the talk, the public will be given the unique opportunity to tour the rock-hewn vaults and tunnels below Auberge de Castille and beyond.

Seating capacity is limited for 150 persons and therefore bookings are being taken on a strictly first-come first-served basis. The event is free, however a donation is requested to support our cause. Due to the anticipated demand, all those interested are kindly asked to reserve their seat by contacting VU via email on vallettaunderground@gmail.com for further details.
