The evening of Russian Romance Songs

The evening of Russian Romance Songs will be held at Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Valletta on 5th June at 19:30. The event is dedicated to the Day of the Russian language, which is celebrated on 6th June, which is as well is the birthday of the most famous and beloved Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. In the 19th century, culture of creative salons gained popularity in Russia. The representatives of the high society spent evenings to socialize, listen to music and poetry. Russian Centre of Science and Culture in Valletta will recreate the atmosphere of the creative salon of the 19th century. During the event the romance songs will be performed in Russian language. Russian romance song is a genre of poetic and vocal-instrumental art that was formed in Russia in the first half of the 19th century. The program of the evening will be performed by the students and teachers of the Malta School of Music in Hamrun. Andriana Yordanova - one of the leading opera singers and teachers in Malta will perform romance songs on the music of Rachmaninov "Spring Waters", "It's Good Here", the romance "Day Reigns" on the music of Tchaikovsky and other songs. Behind the piano will be the teacher of the Malta School of Music Ramona Zammit Formosa and Kristina Golubeva, a teacher of the International School Studio of Arts. Russian Centre for Science and Culture invites everyone to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the 19th century of the Russian Empire.
