GIUSEPPE VERDIs AIDA Opera Spanga

Dutch company Opera Spanga presents an exciting brand-new open-air production of Giuseppe Verdi’s classic opera ‘Aida’, at Pjazza Teatru Rjal in Valletta. The production will feature both Maltese and Dutch performers, and will be staged in each of the 2018 European Capitals of Culture, Valletta 2018 and Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2018. Directed by Corina Van Eijk and accompanied by the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra in Malta and Filharmonie Noord in the Netherlands, this landmark contemporary production will feature production design and film production contributed by students from MCAST in Malta and D’Drive in Leeuwarden. Award-winning Maltese couturiers Charles & Ron will contribute their costume designs, also aided by students from MCAST.
