Patrick Marber’s Closer – Masquerade Malta

Patrick Marber’s internationally-acclaimed comedy Closer is to be staged by local theatre production company, Masquerade Malta. A must-see black comedy of sex, honesty and betrayal, Closer follows the story of Dan, Alice, Anna and Larry, exploring the modern concept of love and, as the characters’ four lives intertwine, how they struggle to find intimacy but can’t seem to get closer. Starring some of Malta’s best performance talent including Mikhail Basmadjian, Jean-Marc Cafa, Nadia Vella and Alexandra Camilleri Warne, this unique production will be performed at Blue Box – M Space in Msida in February 2019. Winning both the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Play and the Evening Standard’s Best Comedy Award, Closer by Patrick Marber has enjoyed international success, having been translated into thirty languages and adapted for the big screen, in a film starring Julia Roberts, Jude Law, Natalie Portman and Clive Owen. Masquerade Malta’s production of Closer by Patrick Marber will be performed at Blue Box – M Space, Oscar Zammit Street, Msida on 1, 2, 8, 9, 10 February 2019.
