National Public Speaking Competition 2019

Malta's National Youth Council, the English-Speaking Union of Malta, and Junior Chamber International Malta, are proud to announce the second edition of the National Public Speaking Competition! We are looking for young people between the ages of 16 and 35 who have an interest in Public Speaking, and who wish to gain experience and invaluable knowledge in the skill of speaking in public. This event is designed to create an environment in which young people can stand up and speak about what they believe in. The main priority of the event is to help improve public speaking skills.

The Competition will take place on the 29th, 30th and 31st March 2019, and will be split into 2 brackets: 16 to 20-year olds (handled by ESU Malta) and over 21s (handled by JCI Malta). A number of training sessions will be organised before the competition dates and these will give participants the unique opportunity to greatly develop their public speaking skills before the actual competition. This means that you do not necessarily need to have prior experience to join the competition - all that's required is a willingness to learn.

The winner of the Under 21s bracket (ESU) will travel to London (for free) to represent Malta on the International Stage in the English-Speaking Union's International Competition. The winner of the Over 21s bracket (JCI) will travel to Lyon (for free) to represent Malta on the International Stage in Junior Chamber International's International Competition.

Once you've completed the application form - registration fee should be paid within 3 days. The deadline for submission of applications is Friday, 1st March 2019.
