Artificial Intelligence: Building the World of Tomorrow, Today is the seventh talk of the APS Talks series, which will be presented by Prof. Alexiei Dingli on 18th July 2019 at The Hub - PwC, 78 Mill Street, Qormi.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is increasingly prevalent in our everyday lives. It has uses in a variety of industries from gaming, media, finance, as well as in the state-of-the-art research fields like robotics and medical diagnosis. The objective of this talk is to help anyone understand what is AI, what it can do and how to harness its potential. This will be supplemented with case studies of AI projects from various industries.

Prof. Alexiei Dingli is a Professor of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Head of the Department of AI at the University of Malta. He has been conducting research and working in the field of AI for the past two decades. His work was rated World Class by international experts and won various prizes including the Semantic Web Challenge, the first prize by the European Space Agency, the e-Excellence Gold Seal award, the first Prize in the Malta Innovation Awards and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) award for Creativity amongst others. He has published several peer reviewed papers and books in the field. He is also involved in various AI projects with local and international organisations. The Government of Malta appointed him on the Malta.AI task-force aimed at making Malta one of the top AI countries in the world.
