DonDisko Presents Surkin

DonDisko are proud to present one of our all time favourites Surkin for the very first time in Malta!

Back in 2006, on the infamously wild yet sophisticated club circuit of Paris, a collective of local DJs and producers came together and made it their mission to single-handedly bring the ‘French touch’ sound back to DJ booths across the universe. The group included a certain duo called Justice, Mehdi, Busy P (and the rest of those who would later become the Ed Banger Crew), some more experienced veterans like Oizo and Cassius, and the youngest of the lot – Surkin. His bombs of gnarly sample-heavy electro ‘Radio Fireworks’ and ‘Ghetto Obsession’ drop heavily from DJ booths all over Europe, and soon become the soundtrack to many nights out on dance floors, all over the world. Since then, Surkin has released an album, dropped the magnificent ‘White Knight II’ (which is as much a nod to classic house as it is to sweeping synths from space), and even started his own Marble Players label. His own hybrid brand of jacking house and electro has made countless indie kids mosh and electro heads sway. It will most definitely have the same impacts on us all.
