Valletta Green Festival

The Valletta Green Festival will run between Friday 9th and Sunday 11th May, from 9am to 7pm at St George’s Square, Valletta. Set-up will take place during on 8th May and St George’s Square will be transformed overnight to feature a carpet of flowers made of over 77,000 potted plants. The infiorata will be set-up by the Environmental Landscaping Consortium. Students from St Albert the Great College, Valletta will also lend a hand in the process.

The floral artistic installation is laid out using a technique used in infiorata installations, featuring seasonal flowers in pots placed in close proximity to each other rather than petals. The flowers, mainly petunias and pansies, have been grown at ELC at Wied Inċita over the last few months with specially chosen colours. During the same days, the façade of the Presidential Palace will also be decorated with plants and flowers as part of the festival.
